ShareBill is an expense tracking and bill splitting app designed to help you manage shared expenses with friends, family, roommates, or travel companions. It makes it easy to track who paid what and calculate who owes whom.

Yes! ShareBill offers a free tier with core features including:

  • Creating and managing expense groups
  • Adding and tracking expenses
  • Automatic debt calculation and settlement suggestions
  • Multiple currency support

Premium features like AI-powered receipt scanning are available with a subscription.

ShareBill Premium unlocks powerful features:

  • AI Receipt Scanning - Automatically extract items, prices, and totals from receipt photos
  • Advanced Customization - Additional themes and personalization options
  • Priority Support - Get help faster when you need it

Adding expenses is easy:

  • Open a group and tap the "+" button
  • Enter the expense name and amount
  • Select who paid and how to split it
  • Optionally add a photo, location, or notes

Premium users can also scan receipts to automatically populate expense details.

ShareBill requires an internet connection for most features since your data is synced across devices. However, you can view previously loaded expenses while offline. Any changes made offline will sync when you reconnect.

To invite others to your expense group:

  • Open the group you want to share
  • Tap on the group settings or share icon
  • Share the invite link via messages, email, or any app
  • When someone opens the link, they'll be added to your group

Yes, we take security seriously:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication
  • Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud infrastructure
  • We never sell your personal information

ShareBill automatically calculates the optimal way to settle debts within your group, minimizing the number of transactions needed. When you're ready to settle:

  • View the suggested settlements in your group
  • Make payments outside the app (Venmo, bank transfer, cash, etc.)
  • Mark the settlement as complete in ShareBill

Note: ShareBill is for tracking only - it doesn't process actual payments.

View or Cancel Your Subscription

ShareBill subscriptions are managed through Apple. To view or cancel your subscription:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top (Apple ID)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap ShareBill
  5. Choose Cancel Subscription or select a different plan

Note: If you cancel, you'll continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.

Request a Refund

All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the ShareBill purchase
  4. Follow the instructions to request a refund

Restore Purchases

If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, you can restore your subscription:

  1. Open ShareBill
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Restore Purchases
  4. Your subscription will be restored if active

Delete Your Account

Learn how to permanently delete your account and data

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. Here's how:

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Open the ShareBill app
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon)
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Data
  4. Read the information about what will be deleted
  5. Confirm by tapping Delete Account

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you want to proceed before confirming.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

Note: If you are the last participant in a group, the entire group and all its data will also be deleted. Otherwise, expense records may remain visible to other group members (but will no longer be linked to your profile).

Can't Access the App?

If you're unable to access the app to delete your account, you can request account deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to localhostbeaver@gmail.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include the email address associated with your ShareBill account
  4. We'll verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days
